"The Gift of Forgiveness"

Forgive them, child, the ones who've caused you pain,
Even those who show no sorrow for their gain.
For anger's chains will bind you to the past,
A heavy weight, its shadow forever cast.
Resentment's fire burns with bitter sting,
It scorches your own soul, a wounded thing.
Let go of grudges, set your spirit free,
Embrace forgiveness, find tranquility.
Though they may not deserve your kindness shown,
Your heart deserves the peace it's never known.
Release the hurt, the bitterness, the strife,
And step into the sunlight of a brighter life.
Forgiveness is a gift, not to them, but you,
A healing balm, a strength that sees you through.
So let it go, and rise above the fray,
Find joy and love, and light your own bright way.
