I knocked on the door last night, but... no one opened it,
I looked at the chimney of the house to see smoke, but the fire is out.
There's no light in the window either, the porch... it's not mowed
And the yard seems small... it's not like it used to be...
The old fence my father made is leaning heavily against the apple tree,
At the well in the valley, it seems, there are no more paths.
I don't even see my mother's curtain put up in the window,
The crane's nest is forgotten on the top of the house...
I went further up the hill, to say hello to someone
And I arrived at the Field of Crosses, too caught up in old age.
The forest.., which borders them looked at me and sighed..,
And then I understood.., where the village moved...
I clung to an old walnut tree and cried with a heavy sigh,
Guilty.., that I was far from those who were taken away and who are no longer coming...
That I was taken away by the rushing world believing life was forever,
And now I have come to see.., that what was will no longer be...
I lit a candle.., next to the frozen lilies...
Among the crosses of mothers, crosses of fathers, crosses of brothers.
I felt them looking at me, from a much fairer world,
Leaving the tear of forgiveness.., on my cheek.., to fall........'
